Different forms of interaction differ in the level of user intention behind actions. This ranges from:
- times when the user explicitly decides to act, such as pressing a button
- implicit interaction through natural interaction, such as gently tipping an e-reader to change the page
- expected behaviours, such as automatic doors
- incidental interaction when data is gathered while the user performs some other task
All but the first of these rely more or less heavily on AI and/or machine learning.
